President - Karlene Kidman
Karlene Kidman is the Program director of the Layton Youth Court, which is a program of the non profit Layton Community Action Council. She has been the director since inception in 1998. She sits of the board of LCAC as co-chair. Karlene is also employed by USU Extension as the Davis County 4-H Teen Council Advisor.
Karlene received a B.S. in Sociology and History from WSU. She has 4 children and # 7 grandchild is due in October. Family is everything.
Karlene is a member of the Utah youth court State Advisory Board. She helped found the Utah Youth Court Association in 2006. She helped with 17 Utah state youth court conferences. She was part of a committee that started the National Association of Youth Courts (NAYC) and was part of the Training and Technical Assistance Committee for NAYC. She was involved with the Davis County Youth of Promise of which they created a 9/11 Memorial in Kaysville. She is a current board member of Davis Helps, which is a prevention coalition and currently working on suicide prevention. She has been received countless trainings on all subjects about youth, prevention, and youth court. She is passionate about youth and helping them become the best they can be.

Data Manager- Michelle Hicks
Michelle has been involved with the UYCA since 2018, while also serving as a Syracuse City Youth Court Ad visor.
As the UYCA Data Manager, Michelle is charged with keeping and distributing data to the many youth courts throughout the State of Utah. She also assists with ensuring courts are gathering data and submitting it to the UYCA database. Her responsibilities also include maintaining the UYCA website. She can be reached at MHicks@slco.org.

Shannon Acor
Shannon Acor was hired in 2013 as the Prevention Coordinator and Youth Court Director for Springville City. She is heavily invested in the youth in the community. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and also Communication with an emphasis in Broadcasting. She currently serves as the Vice-President of the Nebo School Board of Education. She sits on many local and state coalitions that focus on the health and safety of children and young adults in Utah. She is the mother of four great kids and the grandmother of 1 amazing grandson!
